Jodi Pincus - Executive Director
Rising Sun Energy Center
Jodi Pincus joined RSEC in 2006 as the CYES
Director and became the Executive Director in April 2007. She
first learned about CYES as a client, when she had two very
professional Youth Energy Specialists audit her home. She fell
in love with the program, given her background in youth development
and commitment to sustainability. The three-pronged approach
of Rising Sun Energy Center resonated with her: educating the
public, hiring and training local youth, and reducing greenhouse
gas emissions.
Jodi is a UC Berkeley Graduate in Peace and
Conflict Studies. She has committed much of her life to social
justice and sustainability. She was born in South Africa and
has lived in Australia, Israel and Mexico. She considers herself
to be a citizen of the world and is committed to lowering greenhouse
gas emissions globally while educating the public locally.

George Kopf - Manager
Energy Partners Program
George joined RSEC in 2008. As Energy Partners
Program Manager he oversees a team of Energy Specialists who
perform comprehensive energy audits and educations for income-qualified
Bay Area residences.

Jailan Adly - Program Director
California Youth Energy Services
(CYES)
Jailan manages the day-to-day operations and
logistics for California Youth Energy Services and other of
RSEC's various programs. She is currently focusing on streamlining
the organization's training, recruiting, and outreach systems,
and increasing the number of funding sources for CYES.
Previously, Jailan focused on international
development through sustainable tourism in Jamaica, Lebanon,
Morocco, and Egypt through her work with Solimar International,
Environmental Quality International, and as a consultant for
Citizen Development Corps and USAID-Lebanon. She received a
Masters degree in Tourism Administration and a Bachelor of Arts
in International Affairs from The George Washington University.

Alexander Cotton - Outreach Manager and
IT Specialist
California Youth Energy Services
(CYES)
Alexander joined Rising Sun in April 2007 as
the Assistant Director of the CYES program, and has since transitioned
to Outreach Manager and IT Specialist. He builds relationships
with the communities that CYES works in, markets the program
to local residents, and forges partnerships with property management
companies and community associations.
Alexander's background is in political science
and grassroots organizing. His previous work was with the League
of Young Voters and Music for America, which are both non-profits
with the goal of involving young people in politics.

Ian Pocock - Sustainable Operations Manager
California Youth Energy Services
(CYES)
Ian joined Rising Sun as an intern in January
2008, and is currently serving
as the Sustainable Operations Manager. He manages logistics
and operational
aspects for the CYES program, and also serves as the general
Office Manager
for Rising Sun Energy Center.
A graduate of Oberlin College and current student with the Merritt
College
Environmental Management and Technology program, Ian tries to
help the
office stay current on principles of sustainability and low-impact
living. Ian also
serves as the Vice President of The Land & The People -
Merritt College
Green Club. Ian is a native of Southern California and currently
lives in
North Oakland.

The CYES Marketing Team 2008 was composed of Mel Burns, Adrian
Sacharski, Paul, Jamie Cole, Elizabeth Reas, and Emily McNulty!
Joanne Bender became an outstanding member of the 2008 support
team as our database volunteer. She has transformed our dream
of having an equipment and contacts database into a well-crafted
reality. We thank her for her patience, expertise, and for always
having an idea of what we need before we even ask.
